Obituary for J. Morgan Pyles

J. Morgan Pyles, 79, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was born in Canton, OH to the late Frank Morgan and Betty Jane (Bair) Pyles and was the husband of Carol J. (Lausch) Pyles with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.

Morgan was a Plant Manager for Berks Packaging before retiring in 2000 at the age of 60. He was a member of Sinking Spring Post 6150 V.F.W. and Massilion-North Canton Lodge B.P.O. Elks #2029. He enjoyed playing golf, water sports and was a food and wine enthusiast.

In addition to his wife, Morgan is survived by four children, J. Morgan Pyles, Jr. of FL, Jeff Pyles, Jodi Minick, both of OH, Jill Wartluft of Womelsdorf; two step-children, Roxane Stumpf of Lancaster, Travis, husband of Danielle Stumpf of Warwick; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six siblings, Jeannett, wife of the late Sam Ramaglia of NY, Rhoda, wife of Walter Schoeppner, Betsy Pyles, Cecil, wife of the late Richard Pence, Frankie Eakins, all of OH, Earl, husband of Sue Pyles of SC; many nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Tucker.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019, 10 to 11 AM at the Stradling Funeral Homes, 30 North Ninth Street, Akron, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rob Eshelman officiating. Interment will be private.
